TIDEWATER GMRS NETWORK
Built for Disabled Veterans and the Tidewater GMRS community, the Tactical Hub is your best GMRS resource. Please visit the EVENTS page for upcoming events.
We have approximately 5 volunteers but need another 4-6 for this event. If you can help monitor the parade movement, traffic and safety, please contact Doug (WSEV713) at 757-861-2998. This is a 3 hour event, and it's for an excellent cause plus GOOD training with GMRS. A radio, spare battery and cheap traffic vest is required. THANKS! - Doug WSEV-713
On Saturday 17 OCT 26 the repeater will be utilized for a JOTA event in Gloucester. Please give them the courtesy that day to have the air when they need it. If you have emergency traffic, feel free to break in with your callsign and state the nature of your emergency. Thanks - Doug WSEV-713
We will be conducting an exercise on 08 OCT 26 between 1800 and 2100. This will be an on-air event. On or about 29 OCT 26 we will run an active, on-site drill in downtown Hampton simulating flooding, between 1800 and 2100. The purpose is to see how a coordinated volunteer response to a specific area works on short notice. We will be using a portable on-site repeater and simplex operations for this exercise, to simulate a power out event. Anyone wishing to participate should RSVP with Doug, WSEV-713 before 28 OCT 26. His contact information is in the group emails.
First and third Mondays of the month at 18:45 and first and third Wednesdays at 19:30 hours. Usually, on non-net nights, someone will run a net. Please feel free to run one if no one is scheduled to; the net control format is on this website.
If you, as a GMRS operator, have a specific skill such as S&R, Land Navigation, Camouflage & Light/Noise Discipline, OPSEC, Tactical Combat Casualty Care, or any other radio related tradecraft or skillset that you may have gleaned in the military and would like to teach it to our community, please let an Admin member know. Thank you for your service.
